The Hill interviews RAF in aftermath of Amazon tornado fatalities

In the precious minutes between a tornado alarm and a strike, does everyone know what to do?

In the aftermath of the EF-3 tornado strike in the US midwest that destroyed an Amazon distribution center in Illinois and resulted in 6 fatalities, The Hill interviewed RAF Founder Aris Papadopoulos.

Questions remain as to why the recently-built facility was ill-prepared for a well-known hazard for the area.

  • What wind standards do codes require that such facilities be built?
  • Are tornado shelters required?
  • If not, should caring companies be building above code?
  • What training do workers receive on what to do when a tornado alarm sounds?
