Advancing Awareness, Transparency & Education for Greater Resilience in the Built Environment

‘Resilience’ book receives 2021 Independent Press Award

Every family deserves to live in a hazard-resilient home. Resilience-aware consumers can make a difference and this book helps educate them

The book ‘Resilience – The Ultimate Sustainability’ received the 2021 Independent Press Award.

Authored by Resilience Action Fund (RAF) founder Aris Papadopoulos in 2015, the book remains as timely as ever and many its predictions have materialized. It is available at major online bookstores and RAF’s website.

It has been translated to Spanish and recently became an audiobook on Audible and Amazon.

The book also served as the inspiration for the 1-hr documentary “Built to Last?’ released in 2018. The film has broadcast on dozens of TV stations in the US and internationally. It was recently added to the film library of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), which will make it available to the broad audience of PBS and other educational stations nationwide.

Aris Papadopoulos noted “It is an honor to be recognized with the Independent Press Award. I welcome distribution of the book and related film to a wide audience for the public benefit.” He added, “Every family deserves to live in a hazard-resilient home and community. Resilience-aware consumers can make a major difference and this book helps to educate them.”
